From times unknown the females were confined to the household chores and upbringing of the offspring. As time passed the world changed and now its an era where both partners are bound to move out of the house and earn to sustain the current standard of living. But still in majority of the nuclear families the household works and the responsibility of the kids falls on the female of the house and thus gives rise to the supermom concept. To keep up to the identity of a supermom the feminine aspect in her always takes a backseat.
Behind every supermom is the constant remembering, planning, anticipating, organizing, worrying, and emotionally holding everything together. Even during rest, the mind is busy. The brain remains in continuous alert mode. A working mother may finish an important meeting while simultaneously remembering her child’s school project, groceries that need to be ordered, a parent-teacher meeting, unfinished office deadlines etc. etc. Over time, this creates chronic mental fatigue. The nervous system never relaxes and as the system remains overloaded for too long they get emotionally exhausted, and disconnected from themselves which leads to burnout.
What the supermoms would really want to know and practice to keep their energy levels on balance.
When mothers are emotionally well, families become emotionally healthier too.
